Julia Torres (she/her) is a Production Designer who loves to create palpable sets for stories. She has designed several short films that have gone on to major festivals. She can deliver sets from conception to completion with skills to design, build, apply scenic finishes, and source unique set dressing. She studied Architecture and honed her fabrication skills working as a Scenic Carpenter with IATSE Local 52 for several years. She likes to try new things, work with her hands, draw out theme, and collaborate.
She has a BA from Wesleyan University, where she took classes in film, architecture, and Spanish literature, and a MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago, where she designed objects.
